Alma Rocío Jiménez is a Mexican soprano with a distinguished international career in opera, oratorio, and recital. She has performed leading roles such as Tosca, Carmen, Mimi, Cio-Cio San, and Adina, appearing on stages in San Francisco (California), San José (California), New York, Chicago, Seattle, Montreal, Lima, Trujillo, Quito, Lisbon, and various cities throughout Mexico.
In addition to her stage work, she has maintained an active career as a concert soprano, performing as a soloist in opera galas, vocal recitals, and symphonic programs across Latin America, the United States, and Europe. Her concert repertoire includes the Requiems of Mozart, Verdi, and Fauré, Magnificat by Bach, Gloria by Vivaldi and Poulenc, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Dixit Dominus by Vivaldi, and Carmina Burana by Orff, among many other sacred and symphonic works.
She has trained with renowned voice teachers and coaches, including Tracy Koch, Christine Weidinger, Armando Mora, Carlos Aransay, Carlos Conde, Arturo Rodríguez, Rosario Andrade, Flavio Becerra, and Enrique Suárez, who have each played a key role in her artistic and vocal development.
She is currently a voice professor at Knox College (Illinois), where she combines teaching with an active performing career, giving masterclasses and promoting access to lyrical music in diverse communities.
